Posted on

We are proud to announce that Adams Arms is this year’s match sponsor for the third annual Task Force Dagger 3 gun Championship. Referred to by many in the industry as their favorite 3 Gun competition of the year, the match is back for 2014. This year, it will be held on March 28th-30th in Blakely, Georgia at the Legion Operator Training Group. The facility houses many unique shooting complexes used for law enforcement and military training. The fee to participate is $300 before March 1st, and there after $325. Juniors 18 and under and active duty military are eligible to receive a special rate of $250.

In recent years, the sport of 3 gun has increasingly become more popular. Competitors use three different firearms for competing which includes: a modern sporting rifle, a pistol and a shotgun. To compete, shooters must move through different stages and engage targets in different positions while transitioning between firearms. There are different divisions in which you can compete in that vary by equipment requirements. Limited is the entry-level division and is followed by Tactical, Heavy Metal (HeMan), Open and Outlaw Open. Requiring the same skills for combat or self-defense situations, 3 gun challenges shooters to stay calm and adapt to their surroundings. The goal of the shooter is to shoot the course with perfect accuracy in the best time possible. Competing in many 3 gun competitions, Adams Arms has their own competitive shooting team. Known for accommodating military and law enforcement training, the Legion Operator Training Group has many multipurpose bays, ranges and other training complexes that help imitate real life scenarios. With over 4,500 acres, the Legion Operator Training Group is more than equipped to offer new and exciting courses that vary across woods, natural terrain, buildings and structures. This year’s match will be comprised of 9 stages each of which are made by Special Forces veterans to ensure a challenging and technical course of fire in which to test the shooter’s true ability. Each stage will be scored by straight time plus penalties which will include hitting targets that are designated “no shoot”, hitting paper targets with less than the required 2 hits, and not following proper procedures. To help raise awareness and funds, the match supports the Task Force Dagger Foundation. The event helps introduce wounded veterans to the sport of 3 gun as well as have a great time shooting. Established in 2009, the Foundation is dedicated to helping wounded, ill or injured in the line of duty United States Army Special Operations Command soldiers and their families. To help soldiers re-engage in life, Task Force Dagger offers them and their family recreational therapy activities. Adams Arms is honored to be a part of this event and help support the Task Force Dagger Foundation and the continued work they do to improve the lives of soldiers.

With a reputation for taking shooters out of their comfort zone, the 2014 Task Force Dagger 3 Gun Championship is an event to look forward to. With its ability to challenge shooters and create unique courses that demand concentration and skill in a timed setting, the competition allows for a competitive, safe and fun event. If that is not enough, this event supports a great cause with the Task Force Dagger Foundation and helps wounded veterans and ensures that 95% of all donations given go directly towards assisting the wounded ill or injured USASOC soldiers and their families. If you are interested in joining the world of 3 gun competitions check out competitive shooter Kurt Gruber’s blog 3 Gun Beginner “Getting Started” Part One.
